The Board of General Purposes of The Grand Lodge of Michigan, F&AM                 

  • assists the lodges in every way that they can
  • recommends to the Grand Lodge actions for the welfare of the Lodges
  • assembles reports on the condition of each Lodge in the State by visitation
  • initiates and reports on legislation proposed to the Grand Lodge

The Board consists of elected representatives of 56 districts (which are subdivisions of the state), 11 Grand Lodge Officers, and President of the Masonic Home Foundation.  The GL Officers are MWGM; RW DGM, SGW, JGW, SGD, and JGD; GChap., GTreas., GSec., GLec. and GTyler.

The Board is presided over by a President and VP.  The Most Worshipful Grand Master is a member seated at the right of the President and may speak at any time.

To perform these duties in an excellent manor, the board has developed a training and certification program for all members.

MOODLE is a Learning Management System that allows BGP members to access training program information; course module forms, presentations and handouts; to take tests; and to see their scores. It also allows other activities which may be utilized for online training in the future.

Within Moodle you may:

  • View "PROGRAMS" to learn more about the training program.  
  • View "CURRICULA"  to learn modules that are Required Basic Training; and modules planned for Optional Elective Training.
  • Take "COURSES" to complete, make-up or retake.tests for courses in the Required Basic Training Curriculum.
  • View "MODULE FORMS" for course descriprions, objectives, readings and certification criteria (within each course).
  • View the "SCORES" you have attained for on-line certification tests (NOTE. off-line scores for classroom tests are not viewable).

BGP CERTIFICATION occurrs when members have completed training and met minimum criteria in all basic required modules.

The Training Officer will give each BGP member a Moodle ID and Password.  Click here to enter MOODLE for Training .  If you are a current BGP member and are not able to enter the Moodle LMS system with an assigned ID and Password contact the BGP Training Officer.
